Research Metrics Workshop 2017

Date: Dec. 04-05, 2017
Place: Seminar Room 5, The Institute of Statistical Mathematics, Tachikawa, Tokyo
Admission Free, No booking Necessary

Aim

Various problems are being discussed by researchers and practitioners of IR (Institutional Research). This workshop mainly focuses on how to apply statistical method for problem especially scientific performance evaluation. To measure performance of research institute, scientific citation indexing service are widely used. The data used this services is can be viewed as big network structure. Serval talks introduce new techniques to detect useful information from large citation network based on network analysis and statistical inference. Our final goal is to establish best practices in IR by a statistical approach. As for analysis tools, various kinds of application software are now being widely developed by computational statistics community. Theses software have powerful visualization function and capability of database manipulation. As a topic of this workshop, it is included useful visualization method and database for IR related systems.
